Call for Proposals

ZERO TO THREE invites proposals for presentations to the 24th National Training Institute (NTI). These presentations may be field, case or poster presentations. Both field and case presentations should focus on lessons learned, best practices, and innovations from practice, research, or public policy in the infant-family field.

  1. 1 ½ hour field presentations that feature lessons learned from practice, research, or public policy.
  2. 1 ½ hour case presentations on work with an individual child and his/her family.
  3. Poster presentations that feature research projects and/or program models or practices (especially in experimental/early stages).

The NTI convenes multidisciplinary infant-family practitioners, educators, trainers, program administrators and supervisors, researchers and policymakers from around the nation and internationally to focus on effective responses to significant problems/issues in infant-family research, practice, training and policy.

We encourage submissions that offer a variety of perspectives on critical and timely issues; explore current clinical and applied research; identify creative strategies for promoting best practices in infant-family services; and examine public policies that affect very young children and their families.

Topic areas of specific interest include:

  • infant/toddler development in all domains
  • impact of culture, language, race, ethnicity, class and gender on early development
  • child care
  • child welfare
  • early intervention
  • infant mental health
  • health care
  • services for military families and children
  • work across disciplinary or agency lines
  • advanced clinical reasoning/practice
  • personnel preparation
  • reflective supervision
  • family-centered practice
  • new research findings
  • observation/assessment

The electronic submission process takes approximately 30-60 minutes to complete. You do not have to complete the entire submission in one sitting. You can enter the information on the first page, click the "Save and continue" button, and return to the submission later with your submission ID and password, which you will receive at the end of the first step.

For the sake of efficiency, we suggest that submitters collect or prepare the following before beginning:

  • An abstract of the session content - a brief description that would be used for the program (may be cut and pasted from a Word file) - up to 50 words
  • A list of goals/objectives for the session (up to six)
  • A full description/summary (not abstract) of session content (may be cut and pasted from a Word file) - up to 400 words
  • A description of learning activities that will be incorporated into the session (may be cut and pasted from a Word file) - up to 50 words
  • Contact information for up to 3 presenters (1 Liaison and 2 Co-Presenters)

See the links in the left margin for additional information about proposal submission.
